OUR VISION:
The amount of industry knowledge we possess is second to none, but the vision and direction we have is unsurpassable! I firmly believe that one’s work ethic coupled with their desire to help people and to do the right things for the right reasons is what can guide a person to a successful life by anyone’s standards. Being basically rookies in the commercial world of booking hunts as a full-time business, our goal was to not have that title for long. Give us five years and we will be within the top five in the industry. There are so many reasons why we’ll achieve that, but the greatest drive is the kids! Being able to involve the people who mean the most to you in life and having them help build what can possibly carry them and their kids into the future is rewarding beyond words. So like we said check back with us in five years!
Owner/Co-Founder Jacob Huckabay
Being born into a true cajun family in deep south Louisiana, Jacob didn’t have the opportunity not to become a sportsman! The good thing is, is that he took to the outdoors very early on and it seems to have all worked out. Whether in a duck blind with his father Pat or at the deer camp with his grandfathers Glenn and Henry, Jacob spent his entire childhood somehow traversing the outdoor world. As soon as Jacob was turned loose into the adult world he started to acquire friends and partners in the outdoor arena. A beginner waterfowl and whitetail guide in Manitoba, eventually transformed into the sole individual responsible for the management of a 58,000-acre commercial whitetail and mule deer operation in southwest Kansas. Throughout these years in the industry, Jacob made friends from across the globe and took every opportunity to visit the places that they called home. From Alaska to Argentina and countless places in between, Jacob hunted and fished with the best of them. The many trophies along the way seem to take a back seat to the friendships and knowledge he’s gained.
Hailey Huckabay
HAILEY WAS BORN WITH FOCUS!
From a very early age, she loved being outdoors with her dad. She began making trips to the duck blind and deer stand when she was still small enough to ride in his backpack. Although the conservation mindset was instilled in her early on, there was no need to enforce it! As Hailey became old enough to kill her first deer, she went through several seasons of passing up mature does and smaller bucks in the search for the one she wanted. She took this along with her in everything she did. Her attention to detail and focus on her goal eventually led her to pick out the Kansas buck you see in the picture. He was an old mature deer that had evaded even the most seasoned hunters that came to the ranch. Hailey drew her Kansas tag and began to study him. Looking at trail cam photos and spending hours in the field she was able to pattern and take her buck! She now takes this drive and focuses with her wherever she goes. From her schoolwork to her involvement with the customers and the business Hailey works hard. Her travels have also made her extremely valuable to the company and its customers when involving other children. The ”been there done that” brings a sense of comfort and can lessen the angst when traveling with children.
Beau Huckabay
THIS KID IS GOING PLACES!
Beau was born with his mother’s desire to please, and from day one it seemed like Beau was more interested in making sure that everyone else was taken care of before he was. Beau also has an amazingly adventurous and determined spirit. This is the kid that will fish all day and into the night because he knows there’s a big fish in this pond! His determination and love for the outdoors have helped him follow along with his dad even when the terrain and conditions would have sent the less determined packing long before the trip was complete. Beau truly has a heart of gold and absolutely aims to please when it comes to others. These traits pair perfectly with the needs of our customers and Beau will soon be an irreplaceable asset within the company.
Avery Huckabay
FIRECRACKER!
This one will have you rolling. Avery hit the ground running and hasn’t shown any signs of slowing down yet. She, beyond a doubt, has the biggest adventure spirit along with attitude, and it’s no secret. At six years old Avery had summited several of Colorado’s highest 14,000 foot peaks and wanted more. Avery has a way of making sure that you know she’s there, which is definitely a precious commodity when it comes to adventure travel. Ever since the beginning of the company Avery has been right there to assist and approve each step of the way including this bio (which she describes as “sorta boring”). Being involved with as much as possible whether it be dancing, acting, or hunting and fishing, she begs to be a part of it all, which in turn immerses her into the business. Hardly a day goes by that she doesn’t have some sort of input for us, so don’t be surprised at all when she answers the phone to tell you about one of our amazing trips!
Help Us Grow:
Our customer base is growing which is absolutely awesome. This means a couple of things to us. One, that our adventures are top-notch and super smooth, and two that our customers truly love the service we provide and the seamless process we give. With that being said, we only have a limited amount of outfitters and adventures to put our customers on before we run out of spots. If you know any outfitters or guides in any outdoor industry and area or are one for that matter that would be willing to partner with an innovative and driven group of people who can funnel customers to them, let us know. And don’t worry, if we can make the deal, we will definitely involve you!
Why we do what we do:
There’s nothing, absolutely nothing, that we hold as sacred as our freedom. Without it, we are nothing and have nothing! Although the ability to travel and enjoy this great country along with others comes at a cost, the most beautiful thing to me is that there are those among us who are willing to protect that. It is our belief at hard-nock adventures that those who protect our freedoms shall be repaid to the best of our ability, and that’s why the Patrick Williamson Memorial Foundation means so much to us. Not only do we believe in this foundation, we have a personal interest in it. Patrick was a friend of ours who was taken by an IED while he was defending our freedom. There’s so much more to this story but believe me when I tell you that this is why we do what we do! Check out the foundation page and feel free to become involved with this awesome movement.
